Omar Malik is a management consultant, strategic advisor and a change leader with professional background spanning 25+ years. Omar has worked in manufacturing, printing/publishing, Information Technology, telecommunications and services sectors. His experience includes building of quality management systems, strategy deployment, performance management, process excellence and building of high-performance teams. His knowledge and experience in developing business capabilities and sustaining organizational performance extends from an early career in manufacturing where he successfully applied lean six sigma and business problem solving methodologies.
Omar has led the lean six sigma program at ADT Securities Canada in 2012 where he effectively improved the bottom-line by spearheading various continuous improvement initiatives. Omar’s greatest asset is his capability to simplify complex processes, people and technology related issues through the application of Lean and creative business problem solving techniques.
Omar also held the roles of Chief Operating Officer for an offshore Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) development organization. He has worked on various continuous improvement initiatives with Bank of Montreal (BMO), Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, TELUS Mobility, Surteco Canada, Oticon Canada, Minusforty Technologies and numerous other manufacturing and service organizations.
Omar Malik holds an MBA degree in Marketing Management from Preston University (Pakistan), Post graduate degrees in IT Business Management (Japan) and Software Quality Management (Pakistan). He is a Senior Member of American Society for Quality, a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Certified Project Management Professional. Omar is a frequent speaker on diverse business topics at various Canadian Universities and IEEE events. He is the creator of a 5 steps business problem solving framework known as OUI-SI ™.
