Ramon has expertise in the fields of strategic management and operational excellence with over twenty-two years of international experience in continuous improvement programs (Lean and Six Sigma), change management, and statistical-based problem-solving methodologies.
Ramon worked in the metal recycling industry for over 12 years during his career at Gerdau (Brazil, USA, and Canada) where he developed and implemented strategy deployment, long term planning, and process excellence. He has also worked in the aerospace and food manufacturing industries. Ramon is passionate about education and has trained hundreds of people in strategic management and continuous improvement.
While pursuing his masters’ degree, Ramon developed original work on strategy deployment assessment – work that was published by Quality Progress magazine (ASQ). Ramon is also the author of the book R Essentials for Six Sigma Analytics: An Introduction to R for the Six Sigma Practitioner.
Ramon is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and holds two certifications from ASQ, the Certified Quality Improvement Associate and the Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, two Graduate Diplomas in Business (Business Systems and Management), and a Master of Business Administration degree from Athabasca University in Canada. He earned a Certificate in Adult Training and Development from the University of Toronto (OISE) and a Masters Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from York University (Schulich Business School) in Canada.
