Standardizing Operations With 39 Best Practices Identified Through Process Mapping

This case study shows how Adonis Partners helped a global manufacturing organization use process mapping to identify best practices, standardize operations, and enable continuous improvement.

Real-World Process Mapping and Standardization Results

This engagement focused on using structured process mapping to create visibility across core operations and identify best practices that could be standardized enterprise-wide. By building internal capability and aligning process, systems, and change management, the organization established a stronger foundation for continuous improvement.

The challenge

A global leader in insulated metal panel production sought to standardize operations while adopting continuous improvement practices. As the organization grew, inconsistencies across sites and processes limited visibility, created variation in execution, and made it difficult to scale improvements.

Leadership engaged Adonis Partners to assess the current state of operations and help establish a more consistent, end-to-end operating model grounded in best practices.

The process mapping approach

Adonis Partners’ expert consultants began with a comprehensive process mapping workshop focused on documenting and analyzing the end-to-end order-to-cash process. This effort established a common framework for understanding how work flowed across functions and where gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies existed.

Following the initial workshop, a core team of business architects was trained and coached on facilitating process mapping sessions. Adonis consultants observed and supported each workshop to reinforce standards and build confidence. Once the current-state processes were documented, teams collaborated to design an ideal future-state model.

In total, 184 process changes were proposed, with 39 best practices integrated into redesigned workflows.

The impact

Beyond the immediate process mapping effort, Adonis Partners expanded the engagement to train and coach the Business Information Systems team on project management and change management. By anticipating risks, assessing impacts, and defining a practical change management approach, the organization was better prepared to implement and sustain improvements.

The result was a more standardized and efficient operating model, improved alignment across teams, and a stronger foundation for continuous improvement as the organization continued to grow.
