A technology company providing financial reporting solutions for small business and franchise owners sought to increase efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of their own monthly reporting process. Adonis Partners was brought in to lead a high intensity 1-week effort to identify key challenges and areas of opportunity within the monthly financial reporting product line. The aim of the engagement was to generate a short and long term action plan for achieving reporting goals.
Kicking off with team training in Lean principles, Adonis’ expert consultants introduced waste elimination, flow of work, and root cause analysis (RCA). Leveraging mapping tools such as SIPOC (Supplier, Inputs, Process, Outputs, Customer) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM), the team visualized the reporting process from end to end, identifying workflows, blockages and waste.
These sessions revealed over 70 different opportunities for improvement, launched 20 “quick win” actions, and kicked off three “game changer” initiatives. Adonis’ groundbreaking work laid the foundation for a standardized, data-driven reporting process that delivers valuable system-wide insights.
