The challenge

Since 1930, a construction company serving residential, commercial, and agricultural markets had built a reputation for sustainable solutions. Rapid growth and increasing demand, however, exposed inefficiencies within the order entry process. Delays, inconsistencies, and frustration across teams began to impact responsiveness and customer experience.

Leadership engaged Adonis Partners to standardize order entry processes, improve operational speed and accuracy, and equip teams with the skills needed to support continued growth.

The order entry optimization approach

Adonis Partners implemented a structured, three-phase approach delivered over consecutive six-week sprints. The engagement began with value stream mapping to document the current-state order entry process. This analysis identified 44 opportunities for improvement, with seven prioritized based on impact.

Execution then shifted to targeted system improvements within SAP. Fast Data Entry and Bundling screens were combined, redundant pop-ups were eliminated, and more than 270 inactive color codes were removed from workflows. These changes simplified user interaction and reduced unnecessary steps within the order entry process.

In parallel, Adonis emphasized capability building. Consultants conducted nationwide training sessions in both French and English. Inside sales managers were qualified and calibrated as local trainers, ensuring consistency across sites. Coaching, assessment methodologies, a skills matrix, and a competency development plan were introduced to reinforce learning and support long-term growth.

The impact

The redesigned order entry process delivered measurable improvements. Order entry cycle time was reduced by 28 percent, enabling faster and more accurate processing. Simplified SAP workflows reduced complexity and improved consistency across teams.

Beyond system improvements, employees were equipped with stronger skills and clearer expectations, creating a more capable and engaged workforce. The result was a leaner, faster order entry operation and a solid foundation to support continued operational excellence and future growth.
