Mark has over 35 years of operational management, and consulting experience. Using “Lean Thinking” as a value creation tool, he has delivered improved process velocity, quality, cost, and safety. For the past 20 years, he has led process improvement consulting engagements as project manager, facilitator, trainer, and coach.
Mark began his Quality and Process Improvement journey during his final assignment in the United States Navy, becoming command facilitator and trainer for the Navy’s Total Quality Leadership initiative. Mark leveraged his newly acquired process improvement skills along with his supply chain skills as a materials manager for a start-up manufacturer of capital equipment. He led the design and implementation of supply chain process that exceeded the operational challenges presented by a sales growth from $4 to $120 million in a 24 month period. Moving to consulting Mark has worked for numerous clients including Microsoft, General Dynamics, L3 Corp., US Department of Defense, US Post Office, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Examples of key results are a 20% yearly productivity improvement for a shipyard and increased production of specialized military vehicles from 10 to over 50 vehicles a day for Department of Defense: exceeding Congressionally mandated production goals.
Mark’s most recent experience has been Director of Lean Six Sigma for a $20 billion Manufacturing Services provider. As part of the global team, he worked with 28 worldwide manufacturing plants to implement and execute a corporate standard for transformation.
Mark has a Master’s degree from Florida Institution of Technology and is a George Group/Accenture certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
